(usagi-users 00530) Re: [mipl] Re: Autoconfiguration problem with radvd

In fact, in our network, the router is configured to forward
(eth0 & eth1/forwarding=1) on both of its interfaces connected
to separate subnets.

As a first step, we have configured the addresses manually and
we haven't found any issues. However, with radvd, we thought
that we should be able to autoconfigure even router
interfaces (so that the route entries are also created
automatically for these two subnets) and then enabled forwarding
on the required interface(s) to go across the router. I don't see
any issue with it and haven't found any info on NDP regarding
why routers shouldn't be autoconfigured at all.

We are using 2.4.2, we haven't come across any related documentation
even with radvd. Sure something like this would help. Since we haven't
found any documentation related to the manual and automatic address
configuration at the hosts and routers in the network setup that we have,
we are creating a small document explaining the set of steps that we
had to follow so that it might help others that have to go through
the similar journey.
