OK ... the original discussion seemed to be completely side-tracked.
According to the initial mail on this thread, it is mentioned that
the 'network prefixes' are assigned (radvd.conf for Linux router) to each
of the
different interfaces at the router and the rest (i.e. the complete
interface
addresses and the corresponding route entries)is taken care of
automatically
without any manual configuration. Probably, this mechanism should be called
as
semi-autoconfiguration rather than autoconfiguration (in IPv6 specs)? I
hope
this clarifies what I am originally talking about.
I understand, in the case of autoconfiguration but not in
semi-autoconfiguration case,
that bootstrapping is an issue if every router needs to be configured
automatically.
