Hi,
I installed RedHat 7.1. I downloaded the kernel
(2.4.8) and (2.4.10). I recompiled the kernel and just
turned on the option for IPv6 on. things went fine
with IPv6, however, it wasn't good with the sound. i
can't now use my sound card. when i tried "sndconfig"
it gave me a message saying that it seems that i don't
have a sound card or something. I checked the sound
option in the "make xconfig" and it was 'yes'.
however, i tried recompile the kernel on another
machine with the sound option 'm', and it could
recognize the card but i got the following error:
The following error occured running the modprobe
program:
/lib/modules/2.4.10/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o:
init_module:No such device
/lib/modules/2.4.10/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o:
insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.10/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.10/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o:
insmod sound-slot-0 failed
What I'm trying to do is do some testing of voice over
IPv6.
Any suggestion or help??
Thanks,
Alaa.
