The IPSEC6 implementation in the kernel is pretty shaky. In particular, the
kernel often freezes. The Magic-SysRq key only lets me reboot, having to go
thru the fsck. I have used the User-Mode-Linux (UML) patch to create an IPv6
network of two virtual machines (and the host one, of course). I will try to
look into the stability issues.
But I am a complete newbie in the kernel area. In fact, I am clueless as to
where to begin looking for the ipsec6 packet handling code.
So let me put the most basic question I can think of first: I can fire up the
UML kernel in gdb, or start it and attach gdb to it. What would be an
interesting breakpoint for me to explore the working of the the IPv6 and
IPSec code?
Thanks in advance,
