Mine:

# ping6

             [-F flow label] [-Q traffic class] [hop1 ...] destination

Looks like yours isn't from a very different source.

try ping6 -V (not -v)

perhaps it tells something. Otherwise, try strings

# strings `which ping6`|grep ping6
Usage: ping6 [-LUdfnqrvVaA] [-c count] [-i interval] [-w deadline]
ping6 utility, iputils-ss%s   <---
