- Thread-topic: IPv6 in Linux kernel 2.4.19
Hi,
I am pretty new to IPv6 (which says new to USAGI too:-) I have installed
2.4.19 Linux kernel in 2 i386 machines. The kernel on both of the
machines are enabled for IPv6. I want to setup a test IPv6 network in my
lab for experimental purposes.
As per IPv6 stateless autoconfiguration, both machines are
autoconfigured with Link-local ipaddresses. I haven't installed any
USAGI patches in my kernel.
I am trying to do a ping6 from machine A to machine B (both machines are
on the same ethernet link). It is failing with error "bind icmp socket:
Invalid argument". Do I have to install USAGI kernel patch to make this
ping6 work?
Thanks in advance for the help
Siva
