Currently http://www.linux-ipv6.org/overview.html#goals mentions amongst
others:
8<-----------
Current hacking items of kernel and glibc are
- Implement IPv6 multicast routing,
------------>8
Could anybody brief me in on the status of this?
A list of "Things to do to get it working" would be
great and I certainly want to help out to get it up
and running. As far as I could see the following things
are to be done:
- pim6sd
- IGMPv3 (though there are patches from cisco/sprint and updates from
cesnet)
The final goal is making it possible to upgrade the
SixXS POPs (that is the one running on linux) and
making them aware of IPv6 Multicasting allowing the
endusers to do all the neat multicast tricks possible.
I am currently preparing the release of a IPV6+IPv4 multicast
mp3 streamer + webinterface + client (WinAmp plugin + console)
to use this, thus enabling the upstreams with multicast
is the next thing to do for me to make it all work and used ;)
Greets,
Jeroen
