i guess there are two issues - transport (whether database client can
talk with the server over IPv6) and data types (can "inet" type handle
IPv6 address, or do we have "inet6" type, or such).

iirc it is for both side.
we (y-arai@xxxxxxxxxxx) and me have the data type patch for 7.1.x,
contacted postgresql-general but my posting was (i guess) rejected
as i'm not subscribed.
