(usagi-users 02391) ipsec

Good day...
can anyone help with setting up ipsec on my system?
im using 2/14/2003: STABLE Release 4.1

I turned on every option in the crytoapi section of
the kernel config and in the network option...

I run vmware 4.0 in which linux is the host os and
freebsd as the guess os. 
I run tethereal then initiate a ftp connection from
the freebsd virtual box to linux but instead of seeing
an encrypted session I see the password etc. in clear
text.

What might be the prob?
