Currently, on Linux the IPv4 stack isn't unable to be built as module and
therefore can't be switched off in general.

Off-topic: there were some rumors about IPv4 modularisation some time
ago...anyone on the list who knows newer things?

Temporary help:

Configure "127.0.0.1" on the device, this will make IPv4 unusable on the
connected networks.

Take a look at your dial-up scripts...hardly depends on used distribution.

In case of Red Hat Linux, see initscripts-ipv6 homepage or "sysconfig.txt"
on your system.
