(usagi-users 02720) Re: question about ipv6,please help

Every Time you modify the kernel code, you must recompile it and if you want to use the kernel with the canges you made you will need to reboot and bring the recompiled kernel up. With a Modules that can be installed and remove it is different since you can remove the module you want to modify,  recompile it and load it again in the same kernel.

Hi, thanks for your answer.

Why should I reboot?? I mean, I'd like to understand why if I modify ipv6 module I have to reboot and this doesn't happen with other kernel modules. Is this because ipv6 is not completely implemented??

Thank you very much.

Sara.
