Hello everyone
I've been having trouble pinging a host over a router.
I've got these installed in HOST1, HOST2, and ROUTER.
usagi-stable-4.1
RedHat Linux 9.0
radvd 0.71(the one that comes with the RedHat Linux 9.0)
________ ________
| |eth0 | |
| |---------| HOST1 |
| | |________|
| |
| ROUTER |
| | ________
| |eth1 | |
| |---------| HOST2 |
|________| |________|
Here's what I tried to do.
1. Boot up radvd on ROUTER, and distribute a prefix
to eth1 on ROUTER.
2. Distribute the prefixes by radvd to HOST1, and HOST2.
(prefixes for HOST1, and HOST2 are not the same)
3. ping HOST1 from HOST2
4. ping HOST2 from HOST1
But I can't get the ICMPv6 reply from the HOST2 when
I ping HOST2 from HOST1. To be precise, I get the reply
for like 5 seconds or so. But all of the sudden,
default rout on the routing table of HOST2 goes away
(gets deleted), and the ICMPv6 reply stops.
Does anyone have any idea for solving this problem?
(I'm really gonna be sorry if my settings for radvd
were poor, but I dont have the setting file for radvd
at this moment, so I'll send them later if there's
any need for it.)
What I dont get is that there's no trouble pinging
HOST1 from HOST2, and also, default route on HOST2
won't be deleted when pinging HOST2 from the ROUTER.
And also, I found this wouldnt happen on the latest
usagi.
The thing is, I need to do this with stable-4.1.
So please help if there's a way out for this.
Really, any advise, suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
