Hi,
I have been having problems getting IPv6 multicast to work on recent
Linux kernels - I can't get it to work on anything newer than 2.4.18
(ish). The most recent I have tried is 2.6.4.
The symptoms are that it is unable to join Multicast groups, however
if there is another machine on the subnet, already a member of the
group, then it picks up the packets ok. Linux will also will remain a
member of the multicast group, even with the other machine leaves.
I have checked the 2.6.4 kernel sources and the patch for the
MLDv1/MLDv2 problem seem to be applied ok. So it looks like this is a
different problem ?
Our multicast routers are running a mixture of FreeBSD 4 and 5.1,
with pim6sd version 2.1.0-alpha23.
Cheers,
nick.
