(usagi-users 02986) Quick question on MIP ...
Hi,
I am testing MIPv6 on a small testbed-scenario with a HA(router+HA
functionality), a Foreign Network(router) and a Correspondent Node. I am
using USAGI's stable release 5 (20040104), strictly following the
instructions included in the doc/HOWTO/MIP document. When moving from the
Home Network to the Visiting/Foreign Network, the CoA is correctly allocated
and the MN sends BUs to the CN and the HA (Checked with mipdiag & tcpdump).
The CN can catch-up with the BU and performs perfectly and cleanly the route
optimization with the MN, allowing running applications to continue to run
smoothly.
By using mipdiag & tcpdump, I realize that the CN receives a single BU (the
HOTI tunneled through the HA), yet it does not send a BA back to the MN.
This is not the case with the HA, which receives and ACKs the BUs.
Where could the problem be ? .. should I expect to be able to detect the
HOTI-HOT and COTI-COT with mipdiag ? ...
On the other hand, when the MN returns to the Home Network, the MN does not
send BUs to the CN, forcing the CN to mantain the binding of the CoA until
the cache expires ( >400 secs later ) and interrupting IP communication. Any
ideas on how to approach this problem ?
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Daniel
