After some more analysis of what's going on I found that each time a route to
a destination is removed (and possibly replaced by a new route), the
destination entry is removed as well, so this doesn't seem to cause my
problems after all. I'll keep on analysing more exotic setups to ensure that
this is always the case.
Nevertheless, I'll try to add that net/ipv6/conf/*/send_redirects switch, to
spare some frames.
A word about source routing: it seems only possible for UDP packets. The
application has to use sendmsg and pass along control data to be put into
the headers. Am I getting it right?
